FALMOUTH, Maine , Charlene N. Bunker
, 72, wife of the late David E. Bunker, and formerly of Walpole, Maine, and St. Charles, entered into rest on the evening of Jan. 1, 2005, at Maine Medical Center
The daughter of Walter J. and Esther (Willing) Nichols, she
was born May 26, 1932, in Milwaukee, Wis. Charlene attended early schools in Washington, D.C., and, after moving with her family to St. Charles, she graduated from St. Charles High School with the class of 1950. She went on to earn her degree in fashion design from William Woods College.
In 1952 she
married David, remaining in Illinois, where, for 15 years, she
mother operated the Village Vogue clothing store.
After coming to Maine in 1976, she
husband established the Brannon Bunker Inn in Walpole, a business they worked hard at and truly loved. She was a member of St. Andrew's Church in Newcastle and was an active volunteer at Miles Memorial Hospital for many years.She
also enjoyed her
part-time work, in past years, at the House of Ross
, a clothing store in Damariscotta, Maine.
