Celia Haven is the Program Associate for Great Lakes Climate Change Adaptation and Great Lakes Restoration at the Great Lakes Regional Center of the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). Her work supports NWF's climate adaptation programs for the Great Lakes Region and NWF's role as a co-leader of the Healing Our Waters - Great Lakes Coalition (HOW).
Celia's work with the Great Lakes Climate Change Adaptation campaign includes providing information, guidance, and expertise for restoration practices and projects throughout the Great Lakes region. She works closely with the leaders of the 120 member HOW Coalition to provide resources and capacity to members to both leverage existing federal funding to complete on the ground restoration work and to advocate for the sustained funding and sound policies needed to restore the Great Lakes. Celia leads the Coalition's efforts to communicate with and connect members of HOW to available resources and tools focused on climate-smart restoration.
Prior to NWF, Celia worked as a research associate at the Great Lakes Commission, where she worked on Great Lakes wind energy projects with the Great Lakes Wind Collaborative. In her personal time, she has been an active partner in and has served as a project manager for the Buhr Park Children's Wet Meadow Project, a local restoration project in Ann Arbor, MI.
Celia holds a B.A. in Environmental Science from the University of Michigan's Program in the Environment. She is also certified by the National Conservation Training Center as an expert in climate change vulnerability assessments.
