Bio - Cedric Murrell
Bro. Cedric H. Murrell is the Chief Air Traffic Control Officer responsible for the management of the operations of the Air Traffic Control system of Barbados, a position he
has held since 2007.
holds a Certificate in Public Administration from the U.W.I and a Diploma in Air Navigation Systems Management.
Bro. Murrell has been a member of the National Council of the National Union of Public Workers
(NUPW) since 1980.
He served as an Executive Member of the Union becoming its President from 1992 to 1994 and 1996 and Vice President from 2011 to 2013.
He also served as Chairman of the Group Medicare Committee of Management from 2010 until the establishment of NUPW Insurance Agent Inc. in April 2013.
He was also the President of the Barbados Air Traffic Control Association (BATCA) for sixteen (16) years and was elected Executive Vice President of the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations (IFATCA) for the Americas region in 2006.
He has been actively involved in the credit union movement and was the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Barbados Public Workers Co-operative Credit Union Ltd (BPWCCUL) from 2008 to 2011 having been Secretary from 2003 to 2008.
Bro. Murrell was elected a Director of the Credit Union in June 2011.
is a CUNA Certified Credit Union Volunteer.
He was the Chairman of the Board of Management of the St George Secondary School between 2008 and 2013.
He is a Director of the Barbados Entrepreneurial Foundation (BEF) and the National Initiative for Service Excellence (NISE) and chairs the Barbados Action Team- Social Safety Net Working Group (SSNWG).
