Easterly was elected secretary of Laughlin Health Care Foundation Board of Trustees. She is founding member of the organization. Easterly has been active in the Greeneville community having served on the boards of Greeneville-Greene County Heritage Trust, Tuesday Book Club, Greeneville-Greene County Library, Greeneville Arts Guild, and the Sinking Creek Film Festivals. Additionally, she has served on Literary Arts Panel of Tennessee Arts Commission, Nashville, TN, Greeneville Community Concerts, Youth Builders of Greeneville, and the Andrew Johnson Club. She is also a member of Nolachuckey Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. She was active in leadership roles with the Greeneville City School System. Easterly is a member of the Board of Governors, East Tennessee Presentation Society, Knoxville, TN. She was a significant part of the Greene County Medical Auxiliary/Alliance at the local, state, southern, and national levels. An educator, Easterly received her bachelors degree from Huntingdon College in Montgomery, AL, and earned a masters in education from Memphis State, now Memphis University, Memphis, TN. She taught at Miss Hutchinsons School for Girls in Memphis. She served as Director of Admissions, Emory University, Atlanta, GA. She is a member of St. James Episcopal Church and has served as clerk of the vestry, Sunday school teacher and is a member of the alter guild.
