Since 2002 Cathy has been the head of the U.S. delegation to the ISO subcommittee on biometrics. Cathy has an exceptional understanding of biometric technologies and a strong reputation in the industry, presenting on a regular basis at industry conferences and events. She also provides a wealth of practical experience in integrating biometrics into a variety of systems, in both government and commercial applications. Cathy holds a BS in nuclear engineering from Mississippi State and an MS in systems engineering from Virginia Tech.

Reston, VA - September 19, 2008 - Daon, a global provider of identity assurance software, announced today that Cathy Tilton, the company's Vice President for Standards and Technology will speak at next week's Biometric Consortium Conference in Tampa, Florida, Sept. 23-25.
Ms. Tilton will serve as the moderator for the International Session on Biometric Standards, and will speak along with executives from NEC Corporation on border control using biometrics in Japan. She is a frequent speaker at international conferences was recently named as a recipient of the 2008 Leadership and Service Awards given by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
Tilton was awarded the Edward Lohse Information Technology Medal, which recognizes outstanding efforts to foster cooperation among the bodies involved in global IT standardization. She is very active in the development of national and international biometric standards, currently serving as the US head of delegation to ISO/IEC JTC1 SC37 subcommittee on biometrics. Tilton also chairs the BioAPI Consortium, is the international representative for INCITS M1 technical committee on biometrics, and chairs the M1 Ad Hoc Group on Biometrics in e-Authentication. She is the technical editor of the BioAPI within ISO/IEC JTC1 SC37 WG2 as well as a new project there called "BioAPI Lite." She currently chairs the BIAS Integration technical committee at OASIS.
The Biometric Consortium Conference and Technology Expo is focused on Biometric Technologies for Homeland Security, Identity Management, Border Crossing, Electronic Commerce, and other applications.
