Cathy Ogletree, SPHR, is the Director of Human Resources for the firm. She has overall responsibility for the human resources and payroll functions including developing and implementing policies and procedures, managing employee relations, benefits, the wellness program, support staff compensation, performance review management, employment, recruiting, payroll processing, safety, labor law/government compliance, business continuity/emergency planning, employee functions, and management reports.
Cathy works with the firm's legal administrators and managers throughout the firm on various personnel matters. In addition, Cathy analyzes salary and benefits surveys to determine compensation competitiveness plans and directs implementation, administration, and/or modification of new and existing benefit plans, manages the firm's retirement plans, and budgets firm compensation and benefits expenses. Cathy serves on the Benefits Committee, Business Continuity Committee, Wellness Committee, and Diversity Committee. Overall, she strives to make Burr & Forman an "Employer of Choice" as evidenced by the firm's designation as one of the Best Places to Work in Birmingham and Atlanta by the Birmingham Business Journal and the Atlanta Business Chronicle respectively. Furthermore, as a result of its robust wellness program, the firm has been recognized as one of the Healthiest Employers in Atlanta, Birmingham, and Nashville by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Birmingham Business Journal, and Nashville Business Journal.
Cathy has over twenty-five years of HR experience with over twenty years at Burr & Forman. Prior to her tenure at Burr & Forman, she was employed by a regional bank where she served as Vice President of Human Resources Administration with an HR staff of eight employees and responsibility for approximately 800 employees in over sixty locations across the southeast. She holds a bachelors degree in human resources management from The University of Alabama and has obtained SPHR certification. In 2007, the Birmingham Business Journal recognized Cathy as one of Birmingham's HR Innovators of the year.
