Casey Hurbis leads the advertising and communications for FIAT Brand in North America at FIAT Chrysler Automobiles. Over the past four years, Casey and the team have been tasked with the reintroduction of FIAT to the North American market, while creating a brand excitement with fun, memorable and boundary-pushing work that features models, bad boys, blue pills and pop culture celebrities. Continuing the trajectory that turned FIAT from a new market entrant to one of the most talked about brands, Casey has helped grow awareness of the FIAT family, by introducing new the latest models; the 500L, the electric 500e, the 500X and the Abarth Cabrio. The recent Super Bowl spot for the all new FIAT 500X, Blue Pill, finished 3rd in the USA Today Ad Meter, and first in the hearts of women everywhere. Casey and team also built the infamous Fiat 500 jet skis, that made appearances in Miami and on the Chicago River, earning a Cannes Lion for creativity. Casey also led an initiative in that FIAT produced the first automotive industry ads featuring animated gifs, which earned him cred with the under-25 crowd around the office. Equally important to his brand building efforts, is his work and dedication with several outstanding charities, locally and nationally. Two charities he especially loves being involved with are the Special Olympics and Bethany Christian Adoption Services. In addition, he's a legend in the FCA offices for running one of the most fun intern programs among the Big Three. Prior to joining FIAT, Casey spent 17 years at BBDO, most recently managing Chrysler Group regional dealer advertising business. His work played a large role in the FCA family being recognized as 2012 Marketer of the Year by AdAge. Casey and his bride, Cynthia, have two amazing children, Peyton and Cash and love living out in the countryside of Highland, MI which has them that much closer to his second home in the fall, Michigan State University.

Fiat's director of brand communications, Casey Hurbis, was happy to continue the dust-up, at a low level, in his conversation with me. "Doblo," he snorted, "isn't even in the U.S. market."
Meanwhile, Fiat has come up with an advertisement that is specific only to Gas Station TV, a Birmingham, Mich.-based company that operates pump-top screens at nearly 1,900 gas stations across the country. The ad for the 2013 Fiat 500 features a character who literally appears to be abiding in the gas pump just so he can get a peek at the 40-mpg Fiat 500. "We like to do fun, innovative, breakthrough creative, and this provided a unique venue," Hurbis told me. The ad on GSTV "certainly provides a captive audience" while they fill their cars, he said.
