Carrol Dadisman, a church member and the publisher of the Tallahassee Democrat from 1981 to 1997, will kick off the series by talking about changes in journalism during the past 30 to 40 years. During a telephone interview, he said his biggest concern is about the future of investigative journalism.
"If big newspapers die or are forced to cut back further on staff, I worry we won't have reporters to devote to the more in-depth reporting," he said.
But the internet and social media have given the public more access to information something he sees as a positive trend.
"I don't know where it's all going," he said, "but I think it's exciting."
