Medical Assistant & Phlebotomy Instructor, Egg Harbor Campus
has been a New Jersey resident for the past 34 years.
She attended Burlington County College for one year, and eventually obtained her Medical Office Assistant degree from the Academy of Computer Careers in 1996.
After working for several years in a medical office setting, Carolyn decided to broaden her education and step over to the clinical side of the healthcare field.
She attended Star Technical Institute (now known as Star Career Academy) and received her certification as a Multi-Skilled Technician and went on to work for a large cardiology group in South Jersey as a Medical Assistant and Cardiac Technician.
She later went to work for a local hospital in South Jersey as a multi-skilled technician/phlebotomist.
Carolyn's years of experience in the healthcare setting include, but are not limited to: medical secretary/assistant, medical transcriptionist, multi-skilled technician, cardiology technician and phlebotomist.
Carolyn decided to break away from the medical office setting for a while and started working at home as a medical transcriptionist so she could start a family and raise her three daughters.
During those two years, Carolyn had thought of becoming an Instructor in order to utilize her training and years of experience to help teach future medical assistants.
She applied to Star Career Academy's medical assistant school in Egg Harbor Township, NJ and was hired as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomy Instructor.
She became a proud member of the Star family in November of 2010.
