Carol A. Teschky
Carol A. Teschky has served as Maine Township Supervisor since 2007.
Prior to this, she
had been elected to township office five times since 1989, and was the most senior trustee on the board.
Because of her longevity with the board, Carol is endowed with the institutional memory so necessary to make wise decisions in overseeing local government.
has helped guide many improvements in township government since the beginning of her
is most proud of the township's response to a sudden, rising juvenile crime rate in the early 1990's.
The township formed a Gang Task force and developed a zero-tolerance policy for gangs trying to recruit in Maine Township
Neighborhood Watch programs were bolstered and the township opened a Youth Drop-In Center
to give youths an alternative to getting into trouble.
is also proud of the way she
and other board members were able to expand and upgrade the township building (designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Jr.) while maintaining its architectural integrity.
In 2012 Carol
was recognized as a Park Ridge Community Star.
The award is given each year to people who have made an outstanding contribution through volunteerism to the quality of life in and around Park Ridge.
Prior to this award Carol
was recognized by the Township Officials
of Illinois and received the Township Friend of Senior Citizens Award and the Township Friend of Youth Award.
These were awarded because of her
commitment to both the senior and youth population of the Township
First elected as Township Collector in 2005, Moylan Krey was appointed as Trustee when Supervisor Carol A. Teschky took over following the retirement of Bob Dudycz in 2007.
