Ms. Mercer joined The Segal Company in 2005 as a Compensation Consultant and has since been promoted to a Senior Compensation Consultant. She was also named a Vice President in 2007. Her primary roles include managing projects and supervising compensation analysts for Segal's Public Sector Compensation and Bargaining Practice (PSCBP). She also serves as a member of the Higher Education market team.

Prior to joining The Segal Company, Ms. Mercer served as a Project Manager and Senior Consultant for Fox Lawson & Associates, LLC for ten years, working with over 100 clients. At Fox Lawson, her responsibilities included preparing proposals, participating in and managing classification and compensation projects, assisting clients in determining strategies and philosophies related to total compensation, developing performance management systems, and training clients in Fox Lawson methodologies. Prior to that, she served as the Assistant Director of Operations and Finance for the College of Extended Education at Arizona State University. In this capacity, Ms. Mercer was responsible for the College's HR function and various budgets.

Ms. Mercer received a BS summa cum laude and an MPA magna cum laude, both from Arizona State University.
Ms. Mercer has been a member of WorldatWork since 1996 and the International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) since 1998. She also strongly supports the Arizona IPMA chapter and serves as a trainer for IPMA's Certification Program. Along with having the Certified Compensation Professional designation from WorldatWork, she is currently pursuing the Certified Employee Benefits Professional designation. She also serves on the Society of Human Resource Management's membership committee. Ms. Mercer frequently lectures at IPMA chapter luncheons and speaks on compensation at Segal-sponsored public forums, including the Public Sector Forum held in Denver in 2005 and the School District Seminars held annually in Phoenix.
