Carmen Freeman (Herriman)
Carmen Freeman began his service as Mayor of Herriman City on January 6, 2014.
is a long-time resident of Herriman
and has pledged to serve with loyalty and integrity, in the best interest of the City, as Herriman continues to grow and develop.
Mayor Freeman graduated from Bingham High School in 1972 and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management at BYU.
also minored in Accounting and Economics.
He spent 33 years working as an accountant/paralegal/business administrator, until recently retiring so he could focus his efforts on his duty to Herriman City.
Prior to becoming Mayor, Carmen served on the Board of Education for Jordan School District during a season of extreme fiscal and political difficulty.
He was also a member of the Salt Lake County Parks and Recreation Board assisting in the planning and developing of property for public use.
He has served in ecclesiastical leadership capacities during times of unprecedented growth.
In addition to the UPD Board, Mayor Freeman currently sits on the following COG committee's: Physical Resource Committee, Public Works, Education and JPAC.
He is an alternate on WFRC and TransComm.
