Carlson Tong currently holds several board memberships including: the University Grants Committee, MPF Schemes Appeal Board and IFRS Advisory Council. He is also Chairman of the English Schools Foundation, Chairman of the Employees' Compensation Insurance Levies Management Board, and Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Sports Institute.
He has extensive experience in leading international professional firms. He joined KPMG UK in 1979 and returned to Hong Kong in 1985. He was the Chairman of KPMG China from 2007 to 2011 and Chairman of KPMG ASPAC from 2009 to 2011. He retired from KPMG on 1 April 2011 after having been with the firm for 32 years.
