Vocals on the original cast recording are by Shanara Gabrielle, daughter of Eric and Carla Schweizer of Burlington. Her mother, who teaches vocal music at Burlington High School, said Shanara is using her first and middle name as her stage name. A 1996 graduate of West Burlington High School, Shanara has been working in the theater since graduating with a Bachelor Fine Arts degreee from Webster University, St. Louis. While in Burlington she performed the role of the Artful Dodger in Players Workshop's production of "Oliver!" Shanara will tour nationally this fall in "In the Mood," a musical production that features songs from the World War II era. The show boasts a 17–piece band, seven singers and four dancers. Carla said Shanara will be singing in a trio based on the Andrews Sisters. A local organization is exploring the possibility of bringing "In the Mood" to Burlington's Memorial Auditorium in October. Bluegrass festival The Louisiana Grass, Art Stevenson & Highwater, Harvest Home, and Tom Brown & County Line Grass. Those are some of the featured artists scheduled for the 30th Annual Bluegrass Music Festival, set for the Labor Day Weekend at Mercer County Fairground in Aledo, Ill.

"He is just the most loving, caring person," said vocal music teacher Carla Schweizer. Bell graduated from BHS in 1945 after a scholastic career he's quick to admit was less than stellar.He says he did just enough in school to get buy, and never applied himself to his studies.
