Carl Lazzaro, former Fredon mayor and now county freeholder, moved to Fredon in 1993 after living in Paulinskill Lake and Newton in years previous.
"I had my eye on a particular residence in Fredon that I had seen when I first came up here; it was on the back of my mind for years," Lazzaro said. Serving on the Township Committee and as mayor for several years, Lazzaro always felt an urge to promote the uniqueness of Fredon. "The people make the town; the folks are friendly, they work together so well," he said.

Carl Lazzaro, a co-founder of Fredon Residents Against Taxation, which opposed the past two bond proposals, and who is now a member of the Township Committee, attended a Thursday meeting to show the plans.He came to the meeting to support the school board's current plan, but did not make a public statement.
