DARDANELLE - In response to the recent fire on Spring Mountain, Dardanelle Fire Chief Carl Cross proposed purchasing a brush truck to help extinguish fires in areas where there are no roads. He
recommendation during the city council's fire department committee meeting Wednesday afternoon. Cross
presented figures indicating the total cost of purchasing a Ford F350 brush truck would be $37,158.50.About $27,000 of the funds would go toward the truck, and the rest of the money would be allocated for items such as pumps, hoses and other equipment. The council is expected to vote on the appropriation at its Feb. 6 regular meeting. The committee discussed the benefits of purchasing the brush truck. said purchasing a new fire truck would be too expensive.
