Cara Babachicos is Corporate Director of Information Systems and CIO for the Community Hospitals and Non-Acute entities of Partners Healthcare.
In her role Cara oversees information systems operations and strategy for the community hospitals and non-acute entities which is comprised of 10 sites with yearly operating revenues in excess of $50M and approximately 1,500 inpatient beds.
Managing (4) site CIOs, she
has been able to determine what are the critical success factors for a healthcare CIO.
In her prior role Cara was Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Partners Continuing Care, the non-acute care services division of Partners HealthCare System.
Cara has over twenty years experience working in healthcare information systems with a career that spans across acute care, non-acute, for profit-vendors and consulting.
She received an undergraduate degree in Management from Boston College and a Masters Degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of New Hampshire.
Cara is on faculty at Harvard School of Public Health where she teaches a course in executive project management.
She has also been on the faculty at Emmanuel College for over 10 years where she teaches various classes in Information Systems, Management and Project Management.
