Bruce W. Norris recently moved his home base to Florida a few years ago. Clients as well as freinds mourned the move as our city, Washington DC lost one of it's best artistic talents and a fine fellow as well. Bruce had been working in Florida from January through March at hotels in Clearwater for several years.
Bruce, a native of DC has been an active and well respected artist, working in the Baltimore-Washington area for more than 20 years. Bruce has developed a reputation for quality, meeting deadlines and also has a highly innovative stylized treatment of subject matter. His satirical wit is pinpoint accurate, even when poking fun at himself.
As a painter, Bruce Norris has gained a reputation for taking a hard look at daily life in America. His depictions of the body fitness industry, Generation X, art gallery openings, sea side resorts and public transportation, to mention a few, show the sad but humorous lives of everyday people absorbed in an urban American lifestyle. His one man and group shows have been held at many of the best venues including the Museum of Contemporary Art and the National Press Club.
Bruce has an avid interest in acting and enjoys performing in theater productions as well as small parts in television and film. He was a regular background detective in the hit TV series "Homicide" which was filmed in Baltimore. It was during this time, he developed a love for Baltimore, which has prompted his move there for sesvderal years. A long time film fascination combined with his experience in front of the camera make him a well of information about current media.
