Trainer, Brock Clermont, praised the young horse and was excited about her future with Angelstone:

Brock Clermont had his sights trained on the Hampton Classic all year.
Since early this spring, when Clermark Equestrian LLP's Pironella was eating up every obstacle in her path at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival (Fla.), Clermont wanted to prove his mare's worth by taking on the competition in the Eastern League Young Jumper Finals at the Hampton Classic, Aug. 31-Sept. 4.
And his faith in "Piro," a black Dutch Warm blood mare (Nonstop-Palisandra) paid off in Bridgehampton, N.Y.,as the mare was the only one in her age group to leave all the poles in their cups, thus winning the $30,000 Split Rock Farm 6-Year-Old Championship.
"She was ranked No.1 in the [6-rear-Old Young Jumper Championships National Standings] into the competition, and she won the big class down in Wellington, so this was the finalization for her year," said Clermont, 27, referring to the mare's win in the $15,000 Adequan 6-Year-Old Classic held at the close of the 2011 WEF circuit. "I felt she had a very good chance of [winning] it. I would have been very disappointed if she hadn't, because I felt like she deserved it.'
Clermont bought Piro as a 3-year-old in Canada and started her under saddle himself. Given the prodigious growth and improvement she's shown over the past year, he believes he may have to "hold her back" in the coming months, just to be on the safe side. He doesn't want to risk compromising her confidence by pushing her too hard, too fast, when she holds so much promise for the future.
But showing at the Hampton Classic (it was the first appearance there for both horse and rider) was everything Clermont had hoped for.
"I always heard about how difficult the waters were and the natural obstacles and it being in a grass ring, and I felt like she needed to compete there," said Clermont, of Sarasota, Fla. "The quality of the show and the professionalism and the depth of competition were all staggering.'
Clermont said he doesn't expect Piro to continue in the YJC league next year. He's begun showing her in some 1.35-meter and 1.40-meter classes and plans to continue that into next season, giving her time off intermittently.
"She's extremely sensitive - one of the most sensitive animals I've ever come in contact with - but sensitive in the manner that she's extremely acute and aware of all of her surroundings. She'll let you know when she sees something," Clermont said.

Pironella, riden by Bradenton, Florida's Brock Clermont opened up the class by putting together a double clear effort with a blazing time of 37.83 seconds in the jump off.
...
Clermont added: "Pironella has proven that she welcomes the challenges of competing. I'm really excited to see how she progresses through the rest of the year's shows. She's one of these special young horses that genuinely have a taste for winning, and her 7 wins in Wellington have given her the confidence to move on to the next step in her development."
Clermont and Pironella will head back to their farm in Bradenton, for a nice little break before tackling her next show in Tampa in a few weeks time.

The $15,000 Adequan Six-Year-Old Young Jumper Classic was held in the afternoon with a wire to wire victory for Brock Clermont and Pironella, owned by Clermark Equestrian.
The class saw 49 entries and fifteen were able to jump clear over the first round course. Brock Clermont and Pironella jumped second in the order and were the first pair to clear the course. Their initial jump-off time of 37.832 seconds held on to the very end for a wire to wire victory. Pironella is a six-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare by Nonstop. The mare proved to be the best in the field today with her pace setting round.
Clermont has owned Pironella since she was three years old. He said, "She's very quick, clever and extremely competitive. This circuit was one of the most successful I've ever had with a young horse. This was the best way that we could ask to culminate the circuit. She deserved to win because she was so consistent. I was really happy that I could give her that opportunity to shine."
Clermont was "discouraged" that he was second in the original order in the class, but his fast time in the immediate jump-off was able to hold on for a wire to wire win. He added, "I didn't think I'd have to go that fast until I saw Jeffrey Welles in the Five Year Olds.
