A Florida native Brittany Rainey
grew up in Palm Harbor, Florida enjoying the severe weather the state has so often.
Watching the news every morning sparked her
desire to be a part of the news and media.
love of the weather made it a perfect fit to become a broadcast meteorologist.
Ever since then she
has worked to make that dream a reality.
She joined the FIRST ALERT weather team at KECI-TV in July, 2008.
She attended Palm Harbor University High School where she enrolled in the International Baccalaureate program.
A rigorous program designed to ensure the students success in higher education.
There she won an award for the highest performing student in her Organic Chemistry class.
left high school not only with her
high school diploma but a diploma from the IB
program as well.
Her hard work in high school paid off in college, as she was able to obtain her degree in 3 years.
She graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Meteorology and a minor in Mathematics.
While at FSU she
was a member Women in Math, Science, and Engineering who accorded her
numerous Academic Achievement Awards.
Brittany is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society as well as Chi Epsilon Pi Meteorological Honor Society.

decided to pursue her
dream, a career in broadcast meteorology.
Giving into her love of dance she became a member of the Bellydancers at Florida State, performing in shows throughout Tallahassee.
also participated in the 4FSU Weather Show, a half an hour show Monday-Friday produced completely by students.
also repeatedly interned at ABC Action News
in Tampa with the morning Meteorologist.
After applying all over the country she
landed in Missoula, Montana.
Driving across the country with her
little dog, Squiggy.
is a 1 1/2 year old Italian Greyhound/Miniature Pinscher mix that she
rescued from the Bay Area Greyhound Association
says Missoula is nothing like her
hometown, but is looking forward to experiencing all 4 seasons.
