Reporter and Weekend News Anchor
Bridget Fargen joined WJFW in August of 2008 as a General Assignment Reporter.
In October of 2009, Bridget
started anchoring Newswatch 12 Weekend.
is a Madison, Wisconsin native and has been coming to the Northwoods since she
was a kid.
family has a cabin in Minocqua and before that she
vacationed at a friend's cabin in Watersmeet, MI.
Bridget graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in May 2008 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and a double minor in Political Science and American Sign Lanugage Studies.
While at UWM
was very involved in UWM Panthervision, the school's weekly newscast.
did two internships while in school; first, at WITI-TV the Fox affiliate in Milwaukee, and later at WTMJ-TV the NBC afilliate.
Both internships provided invaluable experience about what the broadcast journalism industry is all about.
Last year she had the opportunity to work for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Preps Plus where she covered local high school athletics
in the Milwaukee area.
wasn't in the journalism lab, she
spent the rest of her
time in the pool.
swam three years for the Panthers, before a career ending injury forced her
to hang up her
is an avid sports fan, can regularly be found parked in front of the T.V. watching the Brewers, Badgers, Yankees, Colts and 49ers.
also enjoys shopping, reading a good book, spending time with her
friends and family, and traveling.
is excited to be at Newswatch 12
and living in the Northwoods!
