Brian R. Tinkham is a Counsel in the civil litigation department at Poole & Shaffery, LLP with a focus on complex business disputes, labor and employment law, and intellectual property.
Mr. Tinkham has authored a variety of successful dispositive motions and briefs, including motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, and demurrers in a variety of cases including class actions and cases designated as complex. He has overseen and prepared multiple cases for trial and conducted all aspects of discovery including taking/defending depositions. He has defended large and small business entities along with individuals in cases involving products liability, contractual, trade secret, real property, intellectual property, environmental, and employment/labor disputes in a variety of industries including: computer software, entertainment, commercial and private real estate development, industrial manufacturing, medical devices, and respiratory protection equipment.
Mr. Tinkham is a member of the Beverly Hills Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association and Santa Clarita Bar Association. A proponent of community service, he has worked to raise money for Public Counsel, a public interest law firm in Los Angeles, that provides free legal and social services to low-income children, families, and senior citizens.
While in law school, Mr. Tinkham served as an Associate Editor on the Southwestern Journal of Trade and Law in the Americas, and was named to the Who's Who Among American Law Students (2003) by Summa Publishing. He has written several articles on labor and employment law. A labor law article he co-wrote in law school, "Global Rule One, SAG's Answer to Runaway Production," was recently republished for the 2009 UCLA Entertainment Law Symposium.
