The fire company was founded in 1942, according to Bainbridge Fire Chief Brian Phan.
The township saves money through a fire company, in contrast to a full-time fire department, Mr. Phan said. "The fire company serves our township well and keeps the cost down."
The township is getting firefighters and emergency medical technicians at reduced rates, he said. With a full-time department, the township would have to pay people at full-time wages and benefits, with retirement, he said.
Six of the Explorers have become regular members of the fire company, according to Mr. Phan.

Hello.Welcome to our website. This has been an exciting year for the Fire Company Members and myself because of the many changes we are experiencing. Our 7,500 square foot building has doubled in size to 15,000 square feet. There have also been a lot of changes in our infrastructure.I was appointed to Chief March 1, 1998.I now continue the path that our former Chief, Edward Plomske, had charted. We have many new officers and I am looking forward to sharing this portion of our growth with them.
With the expansion of the fire station we have been able to expand our fire prevention and public education bureaus to allow us to become more interconnected with the community of Bainbridge Township. The addition of this web page will enable us to reach more people both from our Township and beyond.

Bainbridge Fire Chief Brian Phan said there are radio deficits in areas of the township, including East Washington Street, Chagrin Road, Pettibone Road and the former Geauga Lake Park area.
The tower, near the Cleveland Electric Illuminating Co.'s power line, will provide coverage in those low areas in a river valley.
"At times there are no radio communications, depending on the location and weather," Mr. Phan said. Those dead spots can be within buildings, he said.

Bainbridge Fire Chief Brian Phan said the levy will help fund operations and staffing at the fire station. "All fire department levies are continuing," he said. The levy is needed, he said. Without it, the department's budget will be in a deficit by 2012, he said.
If voters approve the levy in the fall, it will be collected in early 2012. It will cost approximately $60 per each $100,000 of home value.
Mr. Phan presented the trustees with a contingency plan on what to cut from the department's budget.
"They want me to look at cuts, but there's not much that can be done. It's going to affect operations," he said.
The department now operates with five people on duty on the shifts, 24 hours per day.
Trustees asked Mr. Phan to bring back information on billing residents' insurance for ambulance transports.
The goal is to generate more revenue for the department through that billing process, Mr. Phan said.
