Oswego State is pleased to announce that Brian McGrane has joined its athletics staff as the new head coach of the Laker women's soccer program.McGrane comes to Oswego State after serving as the head coach at Elmira College in 2006, McGrane also served as the Director of Intramurals at Elmira. McGrane
is a 2002 graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh where he
was a four-time First Team All-SUNYAC player and SUNYAC Player of the Year in 2001.He
also earned All-American honors as a defender in his
junior year, and was a four-time All-Region selection.
"This is a great opportunity to get back into the SUNY Athletic Conference," McGrane
said."Oswego State is a tremendous school and it has a great upside athletically.My hope is that the women's soccer program in a short amount of time can get right back up to where it should be, and that's to the top of the SUNYAC." McGrane's
team at Elmira last season showed improvement toward the end of the season.Despite having a 2-10-3 overall record, the Soaring Eagles finished the year with a 2-1-2 record in their last five games.He has also served as an assistant coach for men's soccer at Plattsburgh State and at St. Andrew's Presbyterian College. His
goals for the Laker program are to get the most out of his
players by challenging them to work hard in a comfortable atmosphere.
