After nearly a year of work, my first solo CD project is finished and available.  I am SO pleased with the outcome and grateful to have had the artistic contributions of some folks I really admire-including Puck Fair's Brian Dunning (flutes/pennywhistles), Joy Kills Sorrow's Jacob Jolliff (Mandolin), Kung Fu Bakery's Tim Ellis (guitar), Pink Martini's Phil Baker (bass), extraordinary session drummer Mike Snyder (percussion), and Ark Music's Jeff Johnson (pianist/producer).   The process began with a series of compositions inspired by my love of travel.  The finished album takes listeners on a journey from Patagonia to the Sierra Nevada Mountain range to the bustling streets of Tokyo and beyond.  You can sample the album on both Itunes & CD Baby and stay tuned for "official" CD release concerts this Fall.
Recently I've had the privilege to be creative with an outstanding group of artists for an upcoming CD that has been loosely called Coram Deo (translated: in the presence of God.)  Jeff Johnson, Brian Dunning, Janet Chvetal and Marc Gremm are the core musicians with an excellent supporting studio cast.  We'll be doing some touring in the Fall and Winter 2011 with a scattering of individual dates this Spring. Music Video with Jeff Johnson, Brian Dunning and Wendy Goodwin It was really special to be a part of this video-thanks Jeff Johnson, Brian Dunning & Kathy Hastings, the Johnson family, and everyone at Global Net productions who made the day go so well.

For the past two weeks I've been in Texas enjoying the incredible collaborative musicianship of Jeff Johnson, Brian Dunning and Phil Keaggy.
Our trio set has a really exciting Celtic vibe with Brian as his usual witty, brilliant self managing multiple instruments throughout the night. In addition, I was privileged to contribute original violin to a new album with Jeff Johnson and Brian Dunning called Winterfold. Brian Dunning's Puck Fair - Forgotten Carnival
Back with their first album in 21 years, Brian Dunning's Puck Fair makes a comeback with Forgotten Carnival. The band is acoustic and the music is inspired equally by the driving rhythms of Celtic music with the freedom and spontaneity of jazz. Dunning, who is also known for playing with the Celtic band NightNoise as well as his work with Jeff Johnson - most notably on Martin Scorsese's Gangs Of New York, has a breathtaking command of the flute coupled with a most personal approach to jazz improvisation and traditional music. "Dunning has a breathtaking command of the flute, coupled with a most personal approach to jazz improvisation and traditional music.

One of the first Irish students to attend the college was flautist Brian Dunning.
"I think I was the first person to get Arts Council funding to study anything other than classical music," he says. Dunning left before completing the degree courses to release a number of albums with a band called Nightnoise and is now a member of Puck Fair.
