is responsible for The Learning Space's business development, marketing and external communication efforts, including corporate relations and sponsorships, major donor fundraising, government and foundation grants, corporate marketing and public/media relations and development and promotion of events and special projects. Bretta has had a unique combination of experience in marketing, public relations, event planning and technology in the public, private, education and non-profit sectors.She served as the Director of Communications for the Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction where she initiated such award winning activities as the annual State of Education Address and the Washington state K-12 Safety Summit.She
also oversaw an award-winning public relations strategy to release the first test scores from the Washington Assessment of Student Learning (WASL) tests. Previously, Bretta served as the Assistant Director of Marketing for the Peter Drucker School of Executive Management, Manager of End User Computing for the County of Los Angeles, End User Computing Support Manager during the introduction of personal computers at The White House, and a policy analyst in the Three Mile Island Program Office (Nuclear Regulatory Commission). Bretta received her M.B.A. in Management Information Systems and Marketing from George Washington University, her M.A. in International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania and her B.A. in European History from Scripps College (Claremont, CA).
