When Brett Weisel first came to Kirkwood Mountain Resort as a young skier in 1987 it was an immediate revelation: the spectacular natural setting, the overhanging cliffs and the raw challenge of the mountain spurred his interest.
Twenty years later it's those same attractions, plus the allure of a rare and fleeting real estate opportunity to have a legacy home on the mountain.Weisel

homes in The Palisades because of the spectacular views and easy access to the mountain via the new high-speed quad chairlift at Timber Creek.
Kirkwood is undertaking its most dramatic development plan in more than 20 years.Recent on-mountain improvements include a new high-speed quad chair lift and new lodge at Timber Creek.Planned in the near future is another new high-speed chairlift on the backside of the mountain; upgrade of the existing Chair No. 3; installation of a new quad chairlift originating from the Mountain Village to the top of Chair No. 2; and three surface lifts accessing several hundred acres of new terrain from the peak of well-known ridge tops Covered Wagon, Lookout Vista and Red Cliffs.
Additionally, new lodges, restaurants, ice skating, sledding, tube hills, swimming pools and fitness centers provide visitors an encompassing Tahoe mountain lifestyle. Weisel knows a bit about the sport from his early childhood, college racing days and from his father, Thomas Weisel, the former Chairman of the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Foundation and Chairman of USA Cycling Development Foundation Board.
