Bret Autrey, D.O., has been approved by the Board of Trustees and is now a member of the active medical staff of Memorial Medical Center of West Michigan in Ludington.Dr. Autrey is a general surgeon joining in practice with Nizar Umran, M.D. As a general surgeon, Dr. Autrey is trained and qualified to provide comprehensive surgical care of the whole patient, with a special interest in advanced laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery. ...Dr. Autrey graduated from the University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kansas City, Missouri.He earned his undergraduate degree in chemistry from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.
After graduation from medical school, Dr. Autrey
entered residency with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine's Integrated Residency
in General Surgery.He also served an internship at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing.He concurrently served as associate clinical professor of surgery at the MSU College of Human Medicine, and associate clinical professor of medicine at the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine.

wife, Tara, are expecting their first child in January and have purchased a home in Pere Marquette Township.That puts the avid fly fisherman in close proximity to one of his
favorite places to fish, the Pere Marquette River.
The Autreys first came to Ludington on vacation and, as Dr. Autrey
says, "fell in love with the town, the people and the amenities of living here, including the river and state park.In all my interviews concerning where to establish my practice, we found ourselves comparing each potential location to Ludington.So we decided this is where we should be to work and raise our family."
