Brad Peek Returns as Gold Sox Manager

The Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox have announced the return of Brad Peek as field manager for the Marysville-based baseball club in 2006.This will be Peek's fourth consecutive season as the Gold Sox manager.He also serves as the team's director of player personnel.
Peek, 41, of Elk Grove, CA, managed the Gold Sox to a second-place McCullough Division finish in the 2005 Horizon Air Summer Series.He has produced an impressive 3-year overall winning percentage of .705 (110-46), with a remarkable .788 winning percentage at home since 2003.In that span, Peek's Gold Sox teams are 104 and 28 when playing at home at All Seasons RV Stadium in Marysville.
During Peek's term as manager, 15 Gold Sox players have signed with Major League Baseball clubs.By June, 2006 five more former Gold Sox players are expected to be drafted or signed by Major League clubs.
Peek is a 1987 graduate of St. Mary's College of California.He holds a master's degree from California State University at Chico and is a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society for academic achievement.
Brad Peek has an extensive college baseball coaching background, beginning at St. Mary's College and California State University at Chico.He coached and served on the faculty at Butte Community College, Shasta Community College and Cosumnes River Community College.He was head baseball coach at both Shasta and Cosumnes River.
Peek is an active member of the American Baseball Coaches Association and is a frequent lecturer at baseball camps and clinics.He has served as an associate scout for both the Chicago Cubs and California Angels.In the off-season, Peek works in his family's business, Shasta Livestock.
