along the course.
As a result of individual donations, including from Transcend employees, Bonnie
was able to surpass her
$1000 fundraising goal.
will be running to support the Alzheimer's Association
, a major sponsor of the race, with all proceeds she
raises going directly toward improving the lives of those affected by Alzheimer's, supporting caregivers, and funding critical research needed to find a cure to end Alzheimer's.
, the inspiration to run in the charity event came after hearing of her
great-aunt Ellie's painful battle with Alzheimer's disease, which affects over 5 million Americans.
"I am running so one day no one will have to see a family member suffer through the pain of losing their memories and their dignity," she
"I am so thankful to have the opportunity to run in the half-marathon, to fight against Alzheimer's disease, but also to honor all the officers who lost their lives in the line of duty in 2013," Bonnie
"There's no question that the race will take on extra significance this year as a result of the last month's marathon bombings.
I am very proud of Boston and the way the city has persevered."
thanks everyone who has donated and helped her
