CVEJIC: The term 'conceptual dance' has never been theorized, introduced in a programmatic way by the makers, i.e. the choreographers who are attributed the label, nor has it been elaborated theoretically in the European or American discourses of performing arts who would be following the so-called conceptual dance practices today.

CVEJIC: Until the 90s, one could go away with talking dance performances by way of asking what kind of object 'dance' a performance is: what is its dancing 'matter', body-instrument-technique-style, and then, perhaps, some subject matter, what the performance speaks by way of a metaphor.
