AKRA's Bobby Waltrip announced the program January 14th on Track Chic LIVE!

There they met veteran kart racers Walt and Marsha Barnes, Bobby Waltrip, David Meade, David Eudy and Mike Bullis who had six karts ready for them to setup and race against each other.

After the first class was done Waltrip, AKRA's announcer, call them to the grid. The Girl Scouts quickly put on neck braces and helmets with the help of AKRA workers and volunteer karters.

"It's great to see Wayne's family continue his legacy and we at AKRA have decided to be part of that legacy," said AKRA Promotions Director Bobby Waltrip who's leading the organization of this memorial event.

"My-Chron, G-Man, Chester Hester from Gold Speed USA and many more people donated products to help raise money for the Memorial Fund," Waltrip credited adding, "I honestly feel this is going to be the largest dirt karting event of this year.All of the heavy hitters are coming.Higgy, Tod Miller, Tony Belk and a bunch of others will be there.Everyone's going to want to be there and be part of karting history."
Waltrip pointed out that 100% of the profits go to the Wayne Poole Memorial Fund, a non-profit organization."Anything people bid on and win or contribute in other ways is tax deductible."
