He turned pro in 1991 after playing collegiately at Cameron University and Kansas State University, where he graduated in 1991.
He joined the PGA in 1996.
He began his career as a golf professional at the Landings Club in Savannah from 1991 to 2000.
then moved to the Ocean Forest Golf Club
of Sea Island, GA where he
was involved with the 2001 USGA Walker Cup.
Donnellan relocated to the Lowcountry in 2004 when he was named the Director of Golf at the Daniel Island Club before moving to Legend Oaks Golf Club in Summerville as the Director of Golf and Tennis in 2015.
