Members attending: Chairman Bob Sandifer, Vice-Chair Linda Tilby, Members David Cannon, Robert Woods, Laurie Sanders and Jerry Zeller.Chairman Bob Sandifer called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and welcomed everyone.Maritime Zoning District Committee: Chairman Sandifer pointed out that before the Commission was Bert Duffie's revision of the proposed Maritime Zoning District Ordinance.Chairman Sandifer referred the Commission to the single sheet in the packets.( See Attachment A.) The third paragraph identifies items in existing ordinances that overlap the proposed Maritime Zoning District Ordinance.Chairman Sandifer noted suggestions on how to handle each incidence of overlap. He asked that the Committee and the Commission review these suggestions and be prepared to bring this item to conclusion in May. Chairman Sandifer stated that it speaks to things that are not now addressed in our current ordinances. He further stated that if there are items that the Commission is addressing that appear to be useless or questionable then the Commission should consider deleting these items.Chairman Sandifer also said that in his humble opinion it adds value and concluded that many coastal communities are now addressing Maritime Zoning Districts.Chairman Sandifer pointed out that the Commission will not be voting on this issue until the final draft is constructed and the document sent to the State Agencies for comment.Chairman Sandifer concluded that the Commission and the Committee should review the proposed ordinance and be prepared to address these items in the next work session and have a final draft by next months meeting.Chairman Sandifer asked for a motion to adjourn.
