Bob Sala is our Founder and Director at Large.
Bob has nearly 30 years of experience in the foodservice industry.
Prior to co-founding DMA in 1988, he was Senior Vice President, Marketing of ComSource (now UniPro) and its predecessor organization, North American Foodservice.
Before entering the foodservice industry Bob held general management, sales and marketing management positions with Hershey Foods and Xerox Corporation.
A part of its value proposition to the market, Bob has led the development and deployment of DMA's e-business initiative called e-Advantage.
This order management, data analytics and inventory management system is owned by DMA
and makes available a suite of services that helps chain operators manage and monitor their supply chain activities.
In addition to the DMA Board, Bob serves on the Board of Directors of Amphire Solutions, the technology provider that powers e-Advantage.
Active in the healthcare industry, he has been a member of the HFM Supplier Advisory Council.
He is also a member of the Harper College Hospitality Advisory Board.
In addition, he serves on the ID Magazine Editorial Advisory Board.
Bob is a member of the International Foodservice Manufacturer Association (IFMA), where he has been a Co-Chairman of its Distributor Advisory Committee.
is a recipient of the associations Presidents Award
and its Sparkplug Award recognizing his
work to enhance trade relations between distributors, brokers and manufacturers.
A native of the Chicago area, Bob holds an MBA from DePaul University.
