"People still come in and say, 'Yeah, I remember the bands played over against that wall,'" says Bob Joers, owner of Carpet Expo."And, of course, we still have that thing, too," he added, pointing to the ceiling.
Joers, who graduated from Adams High School in 1983, remembers meeting his friends there on Saturdays.

"Berbers encompass a large family of carpets," said Bob Joers of Carpeting Expo."In fact, many manufacturers are now using the term "textured loop" rather than Berber.A big seller right now is the cut-pile Berbers that look like plush carpeting but have different twist levels. They have a lot more texture to them."
"Neutral colors are still number one, but we are also selling a lot of greens," said Joers. It is not necessarily the hunter green of a few years ago.The shades people are leaning toward now are mossier, softer greens.Deep berry colors are also hot."
Joers added, "A lot of manufacturer's warranties stipulate that you need to have the carpet professionally steam cleaned every 18 months to keep the warranty valid."
"In addition to professional cleanings and getting spots and spills up quickly, you need to vacuum often to prevent the surface dirt and oil from penetrating into the fibers," Joers said.
"Although most carpeting sold today has some degree of stain resistance, you still need to maintain the carpeting. We always say that a carpet will probably 'ugly out' before it 'wears out.'"
Carpet-cleaning products, such as those sold by under the Oreck brand, can also be used to remove tough spots, like fruit juice spills or ink.
