Bob Furrer Facilities Manager Bob@uusociety.org Bob Furrer has recently joined the First UU Society staff as Facilities Manager. He was born and raised on the south shore of Nassau County, Long Island. After High School he attended Denver University, which was not particularly suited to his liking, so he decided to enroll in a one year apprenticeship as a high rise construction worker. Later, Bob moved to Vermont where he was employed by the Shelburne Museum. During his 37 years of service at the museum, he worked primarily in the Buildings and Grounds Department and became director in 2001. After leaving the museum, Bob felt the need to do something different. After considering the possibility some 40 years ago, he finally decided to join the Peace Corps. He served for two years in a tiny village in the Usambara Mountains in Tanzania where he did environmental work and was responsible for facilitating HIV/AIDS Prevention/Awareness programs. While in Tanzania he became a proud grandfather!

"It's better than I thought," said Bob Furrer, Shelburne Museum buildings and grounds director."A lot of the poles are lower so visibility from the events field and the Ticonderoga are less impacted.I'm encouraged by this dialog." The interactive computer program allowed the view to zoom from one location to another.Furrer asked the program operator to show the view from "blanket level" on the Shelburne Museum events field, while Dorothea Penar, a member of the Shelburne VELCO committee, asked to see the "street view," which simulated the view of the power lines for someone walking or driving along Harbor Road.
