Yakima Senior Engineer Bob Desgrosellier said businesses in the area also provided an additional $400,000 for the upgrades.

The city is currently working on the project's design.A bid for the wastewater improvements is expected to be awarded by the end of the year, with construction beginning next January and taking six months to complete.
Construction on the roadway is slated for May 2006, and weather permitting, is projected to be wrapped up before the start of 2007. Desgrosellier
said the improvements are key elements in continuing the economic development that's going on in the area.
