Bob Denver, an owning partner of Pro Radio, which owns three Bismarck-Mandan stations, said he doesn't blame local ownership for selling to large companies.
"They'd be crazy not to accept what they're being offered," Denver said."But does it end up being good for the community? No.I find very little upside with deregulation as far as communities our size."
Shrinking work force
Denver said that he doesn't think the cutback in on-air numbers has been that dramatic in Bismarck-Mandan, but "I know that a lot of on-air people have gone by the wayside (elsewhere)."
Denver said he has no facts to back his feeling, but "I think they're leaning toward deregulating everything."
And that's what concerns Dorgan, among others.
