Bob is on the road...expecting call back.
RV-6A builder/pilot Bob Axsom spent a lot of time back in the day inspecting the wiring in the Mercury spacecraft as they were built, so I tried to get some panel and wiring shots of the Liberty Bell 7 capsule for him.
I seem to remember reading somewhere that he
had spent more time crawled up in those capsules than all of the astronauts combined.
and Kay were launching for somewhere while I was out on the fueling ramp with the tripod, so I got them in the shot a couple of times.
I could have added music, but I like the sound of the engines .
● Video of Bob Stack Landing RV-8 In Crosswind ...w/slo mo. Coolest part for me was around the 39 second mark where Bob pulled the throttle back to idle and the rotation rate matched the frame rate of the camera - prop 'freezes' for a bit.
