Fair Board Vice President Bill Barratt says regular cancellation policies will remain in effect for shows cancelled because the fair was cancelled.
Barratt says they may also refund money to vendors, and hopes this year's sponsors are will let the fair board hold onto their sponsorship money for 2012. Barratt says the decision cancel this year was sad, but necessary, as so many people who live near the fairgrounds currently have nowhere to live. He says enjoying the fair would have been nearly impossible amid so much destruction. Barratt says volunteer help is still needed to clean up the fairgrounds. The debate has been ongoing this week on WKOK's On The Mark and here are some of the opinions we have heard, including Billy from Lewisburg. He feels we need to show teenagers they have to suffer the consequences when they don't follow the rules.

But Fair Security Director Bill Barratt had said that Daddona was one of the worst violators of the fair's subletting policy, renting out spots to others for a profit. The Thursday compromise does not end the lawsuit the Daddonas have filed against the fair and Barratt for more than $275,000.They claim that each year's fair brings them $75,500 in sales. They sued for that amount, plus more than $100,000 from the fair for economic loss and more than $100,000 from Barratt for defamation.

I'm calling concerning Bill Barratt of the Fair Association.I understand that he had cameras this year, watching who was coming in for free or whatever the case may be.But I understand there was an incident with a fair board member that had some problems.I would like to know if he was corrected for this or if he's paying restitution, or what is going on.Thank you.

A whole bunch of red roses to Bill Barratt, Bloomsburg Fair's new Security Director. In nine months he has accomplished for the fair and its association members more than most other directors have done during their entire tenures. The alleged thief, who was nabbed by security cameras that several directors opposed, proved to do just what many predicted. Most likely the accused is certainly not the only person who's ripped off the fair, but he's the first one caught.Others better not try it; it's just a matter of time they will be spotted. Some think Bill spent too much money to update the security department.A bushel of thorns to them!Remember, he has almost 20 years of catching up to do.I'm glad Bill is not interested in county politics.
