At 6:00am on Sunday, February 14th, 2010 the sounds of feet pounding the pavement will be heard leaving Fort Montagu in the east, running along both Paradise Island bridges, through Historic Nassau along the shoreline to the western end of New Providence, looping around and ending at Arawak Cay.

Beverton Moxey, MD
Position: Director Dr. Beverton R. Moxey is a member of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He was inducted in the Gamma Epsilon Chapter at Hampton University in 1995 and is presently a financial member of the Pi Xi Graduate chapter in Nassau, Bahamas. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology Pre-med from Hampton University and his Medical Degree from Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Moxey completed his specialty training in Internal Medicine at the University of Virginia School of Medicine Roanoke-Salem program where he served as the Chief Medical Resident and his sub-specialty training in Gastroenterology at The Cleveland Clinic Florida. He received numerous accolades and awards during his scholastic career including All American Scholar, Who�s Who among American Colleges and Universities and induction into the Beta Kappa Chi Scientific Honor Society. While at Hampton, Dr. Moxey served as Co-facilitator of the Student Leadership program and Vice-President of the Student Recruitment Team for the University. His leadership skills were further honed when he was elected as President of his medical school class. Dr. Moxey is presently a Consultant in the Department of Medicine at the Princess Margaret Hospital and an Associate Lecturer in Medicine at the University of The West Indies School of Medicine. He is an Attending Physician at Doctors Hospital where his practice encompasses Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Moxey is a board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has a private practice located on Montrose Avenue and Arundel Street. His professional affiliations include: Fellow American College of Physicians, American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterology Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Bahamas Medical Association. Dr. Moxey is the Medical Director for Sunshine Insurance Race Weekend inclusive of Marathon Bahamas and the Susan G.Komen Race for the Cure. He serves as a board member on the Disciplinary Panel of the Bahamas Anti-Doping Commission. Dr. Moxey is a contributing author on several research publications and he has presented at numerous scientific meetings. He is an avid sailing and track and field enthusiast. He enjoys collecting art work and participating in cultural events with his Junkanoo Group the Shell Saxons Superstars. Dr. Moxey is married to Rosel Moxey nee Wilson and the couple has two children Seth and Reagan.
