Some of our Ambassadors around the country have had great success in growing the number of places to play. San Diego County CA is one of those areas where the pickleball community has come together with public and private organizations in creative ways to establish new venues dedicated to address those hungry pickleball players. Ambassador Beverly Youngren shares the approaches that were successful in that southern California area.
Here in Bend, OR we're in the early stages of building a pickleball nirvana. We've met with a number of people in the area who are already pickleball "addicts" and who are anxious to play. Our challenge right now is to find some potential public places to play that could offer cross-utilization of courts. City budgets are virtually non-existent, as is true in most other cities these days, so we're pretty much on our own to create a path to solve our needs. Our little band of stalwarts is ready to take on the challenge. We'll see how we might apply some of the approaches Beverly Youngren
crew devised in San Diego.
