Ms. Beverly Wade is the Fisheries Administrator of the Belize Fisheries Department.
is directly responsible for a full range of domestic and international
Fisheries Management, enforcement and sustainability issues in pursuit of the Belize Fisheries legislation objectives and in support of the broader government policy.
Ms. Wade is the advisor to the Minister and chief executive officer on all matters related to the fishing industry and on the Fisheries Department's activities in achieving its mission which is, to provide the country and people of Belize with the best possible management of aquatic and fisheries resources with a view to optimize the present and future benefits through efficient and sustainable management.
has been involved in Fisheries Management for the last 13 years and as the Fisheries Administrator for the past 10 years, has been directly involved in the implementation of measures to facilitate the sustainable development of Belize's marine resources.
has represented Belize at various international forums which impact and regulate the national development of local fisheries.
Also, as the national coordinator and focal point for regional programs and projects, she
spearheaded the endorsement and implementation of regional policies and legislations directed at the wise use, sound management and conservation of Belize fisheries resources.
Ms. Wade has been a member of its executive committee of the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism and OSPESCA for the last 7 years, which are the regional organizations for CARICOM and Central America charged with assisting governments in the sustainable development of their fisheries and Aquaculture sectors.
