Service Learning Coordinator Beverly Farfan, who heads up Lane's involvement in the event, has been participating for 17 years.
"It's a magical thing.
It's not a soup kitchen.
It's not a handout.
Our slogan is 'neighbors helping neighbors.' It's everybody coming together.
Some people have, some people don't have, so we share," Farfan
Farfan estimates that between 2,200 and 2,500 people, including families and many homeless, were served last year, and she
expects that number to increase this year.
