Ms. Zachary later left the teaching profession and went on to a professional stage managerial career in the hustling, bustling New York City theatrical world. She was successful in New York and moved on to Chicago to get in on the ground floor of an entertainment medium then in its infancy: television. She became the producer of the very popular Kukla,
Beulah was still doing that job when she was killed in a New York plane crash in 1959.

In 1934, Beulah Zachary, then a young school teacher, started Brevard Little Theatre, the first community theater in Brevard.The theater started out performing several one act plays wherever members could find a place to perform.
Zachary later left Brevard, first moving on to the New York City world of theater and later moving to Chicago to get into a new realm of entertainment: Television.She produced the number one TV show in the country at the time, the Kukla, Fran and Ollie puppet show, until her untimely death in a 1959 plane crash.
