Pastor Beth Dickerson
Pastor Beth comes to us having most recently served as Interim Pastor at St. John's UCC in Waukegan.
She is a second career pastor, having been ordained in 2009.
first career was as an Organizational Development consultant and management trainer.
has worked for many organizations and institutions, including churches, focusing on leadership development and conflict resolution.
Pastor Beth is an intentional Interim Minister.
Since her ordination she has served Galewood Community Church on the far west side of Chicago, St. Peter's UCC in Elmhurst, as well as St. John's in Waukegan.
has enjoyed pastoring all of these uniquely different churches and is very much looking forward to serving Bethany.
It is anticipated that she
will be with us for approximately two years.
husband Paul have been married for 43 years and live in Hinsdale.
Paul is an electrical engineer and is working for a company on the south side of Chicago.
designs uninterrupted power supplies.
In other words, his
company assures customers that if they lose their power they won't lose their computers and data.
and Paul have three grown children, all of whom are married, and two granddaughters who are 3 and 5.
Hopefully over the holidays you will meet their two granddaughters, Evie and Lily, at church.
Beth's mother turned 90 in August and lives in a retirement home in Evanston.
You need to know that Pastor Beth loves the United Church of Christ.
She has served the Chicago Metropolitan Association and Illinois Conference in a number of ways.
She says her most challenging but rewarding volunteer opportunity was chairing the Church and Ministry committee of CMA.
She has been a General Synod delegate twice and thinks it's important for laity as well as clergy to be involved beyond the local church.
Pastor Beth is looking forward to getting to know the congregation.
