Physician Andy Su, San Francisco policeman Matthew Balzarini, businessman Eric Payne, retired Pacific Bell project manager Bernice King Tingle and — judging by his slight lead — owner of a Livermore property management company Jim Lamb will be sworn in during a Friday evening ceremony.

The new candidates include: East Palo Alto Assistant City Manager M.L. Gordon; telecommunications business owner Timothy MacDonald; physician Andy Su; retired project manager Bernice Tingle; homemaker Venita Norman; professional services consultant Manny Penn; project manager Warren Fortes; attorney and compliance officer Cheryle Bernard-Shaw; pharmaceutical sales representative Aaron Lehikoinen Sr.; pastor and early interventionist Nichica Smith; and businessman-entrepreneur Eric Payne. Tingle, 62, a five-year Mountain House resident, spent 27 years as a project manager at Pacific Bell in the Bay Area and feels her experience managing large projects, problem solving, and in budgeting and finance will make her an ideal board member. "I have the time, will and experience," she said.

Bernice King Tingle and Dr. Andy Su are two of the candidates with the most votes who are reasonably sure the absentee ballots in Mountain House won't change the election for them.
While Andy Su, Matthew Balzarini, Eric Payne and Bernice King Tingle are likely to emerge as winners out of the 18 candidates, it's still a question mark whether Jim Lamb or Cheryle Bernard-Shaw will come out ahead. And then there's Tingle, a retired project manager, with 496 votes, or 8.76 percent.

That includes local physician Andy Su, San Francisco police officer Matthew Balzarini, businessman Eric Payne and retired project manager Bernice King Tingle, who along with Lamb now comprise the inaugural board.
