The Swansea Police Department has teamed with the Lexington County Sheriff's Department to track down two shooters in the Elm Creek Apartments killing, said Swansea Police Chief Ben Spence.
Jalah Peeples, 2, died of a gunshot wound, according to the Lexington County Coroner's Office.Details of an autopsy were not released Tuesday.
"We are just getting cranked up," Spence
Police were canvassing the neighborhood Tuesday and reinterviewing apartment complex residents on what they might have seen, officers said.
"It was early in the morning and people that may have been around might remember something," Spence
"We are not sure if they are connected to anything yet," Spence
It is unclear whether a home invasion across the hall in September 2006 has any connection to Monday's shooting. .
According to the incident report, the victim of the home invasion said two armed men entered his
apartment looking for drugs and money.Spence
hopes the interviews and incoming information will lead to more clues in both cases.
