"We do it every fire season (serving multiple communities), and we're good at it," said Show Low Fire Chief Ben Owens.
"We have the support of the five fire departments through mutual aid agreements." Battalion Chief for the Show Low Fire Department Randy Chevalier confirmed that they will indeed respond to structure fires and that Arrowhead Health Services out of Show Low will provide emergency medical services to the area. Chevalier said he felt Show Low's fire department has an obligation to help keep residents in White Mountain Lake safe, but said that the department would not be able to serve both communities indefinitely. The Show Low Fire Department stressed that they are as concerned with the public safety and properties of the citizens of White Mountain Lakes as they are their own fire district. "We want to help them out," Owens said.
